The DIG Bhopal had instituted the SIT to investigate the cases related to Hemant Katare on February 13. The SIT conducted the raid at the Katare’s Juna Gym and at his house situated in Rachna Nagar. At the gym, the team found CCTV footage and also took the statement of the gym’s guard and others. The team also met elder brother of Hemant and asked about Hemant Katare.
Earlier in the morning, the team visited the house of Vikramjeet situated at Aishbaag area. The team seized mobile phone of Vikramjeet. He is absconding since the case had been registered against him by police crime branch, Bhopal.
I didn’t rape the girl: Cong MLA
While talking to a news channel, Congress MLA Hemant Katare raised several issues against the police and on FIR registered against him on girl’s complaint. He said, “From jail, after the arrest of eight day, the girl wrote letter to the police stating that she was raped, but she did not mention the date, day and time of incident. I think that if a girl is raped she should remember the black date, day and time of the incident. Surprisingly, the police registered the case without any cross verification.”
He added that he has evidences of his innocence and will place before court. He denied having physical relationship with the girl and that Vikramjeet had contacted him from the girl side. “When I came to know that Vikramjeet is searching for me, I asked two Congress corporators to check why Vikramjeet is searching for,” he said.
