Let Laxmikant, Raghavji also contest elections Gaur

Former Chief Minister Babulal Gaur has once again come out with a statement posing embarrassment to his own party, BJP. He has said that not only he himself, but former Ministers Laxmikant Sharma and Raghavji are also winning candidates and the party should provide tickets to them.

Former Education Minister Laxmikant Sharma was terminated from the membership of the party, after he was named in the infamous Vyapam scam. In the case he also remained in jail for a couple of years.

Similarly, then Finance Minister Raghavji was removed from the party, after he was named in a sodomy case registered against him by his male servants.

Gaur told media persons that he had recently visited Lateri in Vidisha district in connection with a programme and there he met these two leaders. They have expressed the wish to contest the next Assembly elections.

Notably, around a year ago, Gaur was removed from the State Cabinet, citing a formula of bar on those more than 75 years of age and since then he never leaves any chance to counter the senior party leaders, including the Chief Minister.

Recently, during his State visit, BJP national president Amit Shah, while talking to media persons, had categorically stated that the decision whether to keep anybody in the Cabinet or not, is prerogative of the Chief Minister. Since then, Gaur is planning to contest Assembly election the eleventh time.
