Heavy rainfall to continue for two more days in MP

For the second consecutive day heavy rainfall was witnessed in the city and the same pattern has prevailed across the State. The State would receive good rainfall for the next 48 hours too, Met officials said.

Despite heavy rainfall there is bleak chance of decrease in the deficit of rainfall.

The city received 4.4 cm of rainfall while Bairagarh recorded 3 cm of rainfall with an hour during the day on Tuesday.

Among other area which recorded heavy rainfall, Indore and Ujjain recorded 3.8 cm rainfall each, Ratlam recorded 2.3 cm, Shivopuri recorded 1.4 cm rainfall, Satna 1.3 cm rainfall and Rewa 1.2 cm on Tuesday.

Most of the regions of Ujjain division witnessed rainfall in the past 24 hours, several places in Hoshangabad division and few places in Jabalpur, Shahdol, Indore and Gwalior.

Heavy rainfall was witnessed in the afternoon which lashed the city and water-logged several areas. Commuters faced a hard time to ply on roads as they were flooded by water and remained so for hours.

Traffic jams at several places in the city were witnessed after the heavy rainfall. The system over south-west Rajasthan and a trough line which receded induced the rainfall.

Met officials said that the pattern of good rainfall has been witnessed across the State and would prevail for the next 2-3 days.

In the past 24 hours Bhainskhedi recorded 7 cm of rainfall, Kannod recorded 5 cm of rainfall, Singrauli and Seoni recorded 4 cm of rainfall, Narsingh, Pachmari, Ishagarh, Raisen, Ujjain and Shajapur recorded 3 cm of rainfall.

The city recorded day temperature at 32.2 degree Celsius and night temperature was  23.4 degree Celsius.

Among major cities Indore, Gwalior and Jabalpur recorded day temperature at 31.5 cm, 37.4 cm and 31.9 cm, respectively. Except Gwalior, all the major cities witnessed rainfall.
