Goons unleash violence in Red Cross hospital campus

Bhopal: A group of armed men on Thursday attacked a medical store owner in Red Cross hospital, which falls under the limits of Habibganj police station and also is in the vicinity of 74 Bungalow area.

The owner of medical store Balaji clinic Sandeep Parihar had a row with the prime accused Brijesh Dwivedi due to a contract signed for running the store in the hospital campus. Parihar said that there was row over ownership for shop in the hospital campus for which the court had already ruled in his favour. Thereafter, Dwivedi developed a grudge against him.

According to Parihar, it was around 7.30 pm when he was standing near his SUV with five of his friends that about 70 goons arrived in two Safari cars and 30 mobikes. “As they arrived, one of them pelted a stone at me and then all of them attacked us with rods and sticks while few of them were also carrying swords,” Parihar said. Parihar managed to hide himself but his friends Anoop, Narendra, Shivendra, Pankaj and Neeraj received serious injuries and were rushed to a nearby private hospital.

He said that he knew about the attack and hence he had informed Habibganj police about it half an hour back but no cop arrived till goons arrived and unleashed violence. Habibganj SHO Virendra Singh, when contacted, said, “There were about 12 goons. We have registered the case. Investigations are on.” He ruled out that police were informed prior to the incident.
