AIIMS organises Swacch Bharat run
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan is one of the flagship and priority programmes of Government of India. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Bhopal on Sunday organised a 5 km run under implementation drive of Swachchhta Action Plan at the Institute.
About 500 runners and 150 volunteers from among the members of the Institute (faculty, officers, residents doctors, interns, students, and staff members) participated in the event to show their commitment to develop a green and clean AIIMS. Bhopal Runners supported the event.
The run was jointly flagged off by Prof Dr Rajesh Malik, Medical Superintendent and Dean Academics with Prof Dr Sudhir Goel, Dean Student Welfare of AIIMSBhopal . The participants took the Swachchhta Pledge before the beginning of the run. The Mascot of Swachchhta Action Plan was also unveiled at the occasion and the winner was given the cash prize of Rs 50,000.
Talking about the objective of the Swachatta Run, deputy director (administration), AIIMS Bhopal Santosh Sohgaura said that it was organised to sensitize all employees of AIIMS Bhopal about the necessity of proper sanitation and cleanness/ hygiene and also to create social buzz about swachatta. Director AIIMS Bhopal, Prof Nitin M Nagarkar congratulated the winner of the Swachatta Run, winner of Swachatta Mascot Design and also all participants of the race.
